General Questions
What if I don't have an official diagnosis?
You do not need one. Self-identification and late-identification are welcome. Many neurodivergent adults face barriers to obtaining formal assessments.
Is this therapy?
For support group:
This is a therapist-facilitated support group. While therapeutic conversations naturally happen, this isn't a substitute for individual therapy or crisis care.
For skills group:
This is an educational and skills-focused group where you'll learn practical tools for understanding and supporting your neurodivergent brain.
Who is this group for?
This group may be a good fit if you:
- were diagnosed later in life
- suspect you're neurodivergent
- are exhausted from masking
- struggle with burnout
- want practical tools instead of judgment
- are looking for people who "get it"
Who might this group not be the best fit for?
- Individuals needing a higher level of care for acute mental health concerns
- Those looking primarily for intensive trauma processing (individual therapy may be more appropriate)
- People seeking formal diagnostic evaluations as I'm not a formal diagnostician.
I've tried therapy before and felt misunderstood.
Honestly, most people are nervous about joining groups. My goal is to make this as comfortable/accessible as possible for neurodivergent folks. Typically, you get plenty of opportunities to be uncomfortable and I'm not trying to exacerbate that here. If you feel something could be added/changed about group to make it more affirming/accessible, please let me know!
This group is neurodivergent-affirming. The goal is not to teach you to mask better or become "less neurodivergent." We focus on understanding your brain, reducing shame, and building practical supports.
Group Structure
Virtual Group Structure
- Virtual groups are open to anyone who is located in KS at the time of group.
- You will be asked to turn your screen on for introductions, but you won't have to keep it on at all times.
- You must be in a private space, however. In order to protect other's privacy, no one else can be in the same room and you can not be in public during session.
In-Person Group Structure
- In-person groups take place at my office: 13401 Mission Rd. Suite 216 Leawood, KS 66209
- You will enter our office lobby and I will come out and invite you in once group is ready to begin.
- Restrooms are available down the hall.
- You are welcome to bring comfort items, stimming accessories, and beverages.
How many people will be there?
Support Groups are 4-6 members.
Skills Groups are 6-10 members.
Will I be required to talk/share?
Part of making groups neurodivergent friendly is understanding that sometimes our energy levels or emotional state doesn't make it easy to open up. You won't be forced to share or talk. You may be asked/encouraged at times, but you can always reach out to Victoria and let her know your preferences in communication.
There is never pressure to speak. Listening is participating.
Can I eat or drink during group?
Feel free to bring snacks, water, tea, or anything else that helps you stay regulated.
What if I need a break?
Please take one, no permission needed.
Your nervous system comes first.
Can I stim or fidget?
Absolutely.
You're welcome to:
- knit
- crochet
- doodle
- color
- use fidgets
- rock
- pace (if virtual)
- stretch
- keep your camera off if needed
Whatever helps you regulate and stay present.
Do I have to keep my screen on the whole time?
No - I understand that sometimes it's difficult to focus or feel authentic when you're being observed. I encourage everyone to keep their screens on as much as they can, but if you need a moment or simply can't that day, it's all right. For processing groups, screen engagement is more essential, but again, please feel free to share you preferences with me.
Group Content
Skills Group Content
Our skills groups are typically virtual and open to all adults.
We will use a neurodivergent friendly skills workbook (linked here) to build discussions and learn new skills.
Because this is a skills group (versus a general support group), each group will have introductions, short educational presentations, and discussions.
Women's Support Group Content
I'm passionate about supporting other late-diagnosed neurodivergent women. There are so many layers to deconstruct around our identity and how we relate to others.
Groups will focus on creating a space for you to (hopefully) unmask, learn from other women in how they navigate their needs, and loosely-guided discussion.
Questions about $$
What if I miss a session, will I still be charged?
In order to make group sustainable, group fees are unfortunately nonrefundable.
Fees are due before group begins.
Limited sliding scale applications are available upon request.
Sliding Scale Application
In order to make groups accessible to all income levels, a limited amount of sliding scale applications are available upon request.
To sign up for the sliding scale, simply let Victoria know you would like to apply. If there are still sliding scale openings for the group, she will send you the options and get you set up.
Do you accept insurance?
Due to the nature of the group content and structure, groups are not billable to insurance.
If you have an insurance plan that i'm in network with for individual therapy, you may be asked to fill out a form "waiving the use of your insurance."
How much does group cost?
Groups are usually within the $45-$65 range per session. Groups typically run 6 weeks long.

For years, I pursued therapy under the impression that if I just "tried harder" my "PTSD" symptoms would go away. Once I learned about my own neurodivergence, a light bulb went off. I learned to work with my brain versus trying to "heal it away." I learned about my sensory needs, executive function rhythms, and communication styles, finding the support I need became much easier.
